What is an Ambulatory Surgery Center?
Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) are facilities where outpatient surgical procedures can be safely performed without a hospital stay. They provide a cost-effective and convenient alternative that is less stressful than the large hospital environment.
What should I do if I need to cancel my procedure?
If you need to cancel your procedure, please call Northtowns Ambulatory Surgery Center as soon as possible at 716-817-0450. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Our friendly staff will direct you on what you need to do next. It is likely that you will need to contact your physician’s office directly to reschedule.
How long will the surgery take?
Length of surgery depends on the type of procedure being performed. Your surgeon will tell you what to expect during your office visit prior to your procedure.
Why do I have to be there 90 minutes early?
We need to use that time to get you checked in, start your IV and perform other necessary measures prior to your surgery. See the Before Surgery section under Visit Information for more details.
What do I do the day before my procedure?
Prior to your surgery, your physician and our staff will provide you with instructions specific to your procedure. However, you may view general guidelines in the Before Surgery section section under the Visit Information page.
Can I keep my undergarments on?
If they do not interfere with surgery, cotton undergarments without any metal in them may be worn.
Why can’t I eat or drink hours before surgery?
Should I call the Surgery Center before my surgery for instructions?
