Colorectal Surgery & Colonoscopy Services
Northtowns Ambulatory Surgery Center offers colorectal surgery specialists who perform a wide range of surgical procedures that treat conditions affecting the colon, rectum and anus, also known as the lower digestive tract. Many procedures are performed using minimally invasive, laparoscopic or robotic techniques.
These outpatient colorectal offerings include colonoscopy procedures, in which the physician uses a flexible tube with a camera scope on one end to look inside your rectum and colon. Routine screening or diagnostic colonoscopies are used to detect irritated or swollen tissue, ulcers, colorectal cancer or polyps. They are helpful for diagnosing gastrointestinal diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease or colon cancer, and health care providers recommend routine screenings for middle-aged and older adults.
