Bernard Hsu, MD

Pain Medicine

Dr. Bernard Hsu was born and raised in the New York City region. He finished his undergraduate at New York University with a major in Economics and Pre-Medicine. He completed his medical school and residency training at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn and moved to Buffalo to complete his fellowship training in Pain Medicine at SUNY Buffalo. He has dual board certification in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. In addition, he trained in medical acupuncture at Harvard Medical School and is licensed to practice in New York state.

Dr. Hsu is passionate about helping patients and providing the best and newest treatments available. In addition to his work at Buffalo Pain and Healing, he also works directly with the University at Buffalo in the department of Anesthesiology/Pain Medicine. He is involved in training residents and fellows in pain management and was the previous Site Director of the pain medicine fellowship program at Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo.

Outside of work, Dr. Hsu likes to spend time with his wife and two children. Dr. Hsu enjoys basketball, skiing, traveling the world, watching movies, fishing, golf, pickleball, and computers. He is active in the local community and his children’s activities.
